Don’t let the bed bugs bite,” may have been a pleasant nursery rhyme to send us off to bed, but for many hospitality businesses and private home dwellers it’s becoming a retro-warning to ward off a creepy blood-sucking parasite that is making its way back into our homes, let alone our beds.

Beetles with an appetite for a wetland-plaguing plant called purple loosestrife will likely be let loose in St. Clair Shores next spring, hopefully to battle the colorful invader that is taking root in new spots around the Macomb County suburb.
